astralis: (kaylee fangirl moment)

I'm bored, so:

1: meme: Name a character or pairing, and see me ramble.

2: all I've been writing at the moment is Mal/Kaylee, so for a bit of variety: suggest a character/pairing and a prompt (or two, or three), and I'll attempt to write you a drabble. Fandoms up for grabs are Firefly/Serenity, CSI, CSI:New York, Bones, Lost, Without a Trace, Alias, Medical Investigation, NCIS, Doctor Who (Ninth Doctor), Harry Potter and Swallows and Amazons. Just remember that New Zealand TV sucks so I may be anywhere from six months to two years behind pretty much everything except Firefly/Serenity, Medical Investigation and Doctor Who.

1. Nick/Sara: Because it has to be said.
2. Oh dear, this could get complex. Kate and Sawyer at Christmas? I'm trying to re-emerse self in Lost fandom. OMG someone dies next week.

Nick/Sara:

They are all angsty and screwed up and hot, and they work because they don't work. He needs to fix people to feel better about himself, partly because if he's focusing on other people he doesn't need to deal with what's going on inside, and he just wants to be accepted and loved and not to have people make jokes about "silk silk silk". Sara doesn't want to need anyone, she wants to be all independent and brave and Big Tough Sara, only that's not who she is, and she's fixated on Grissom because he's safe, because he's incapable of really loving anyone (IMO, anyway) and that means she doesn't have to worry about him wanting a romantic relationship with her, which would mean actually sharing herself.

They both understand hurting and pain and betrayal and fear and they're both used to living with that and I think they tend to hang on to that, because even though it hurts like hell it's safe and it's less scary than confronting their issues. They're two people who really shouldn't be in a relationship - with anyone, not necessarily with each other - but I can see them gravitating towards each other and using each other to avoid dealing with their issues, and ending up co-dependent and totally screwed up but somehow happy, in a strange way. Or absolutely miserable, one or the other.

Also, they're hot.

Drabble coming when it starts co-operating. *g*
