fluent at last in the languages of the sea

It is quite ridiculous that an episode of NCIS should leave me with a great desire to have a nuclear submarine all for my very own.

So, why is it that in all those fics where a female character has a secret child that suddenly reappears and comes to live with them, the child is always a girl?

I'm tempted to write one in which the child is a boy, just for the hell of it. I probably won't, but I'm entertaining myself by weighing up all the female characters in my head and trying to figure out who gets to have this kid.

Well, that was pointless. I probably won't write the fic. At least it's kept me amused for the last day or two.

When it comes to television, I'm all about the pretty girls. I'm shallow like that.
