1. My username is _astralis, because astralis was already taken. I use Astralis everywhere as my screen name. It means "star" in Latin. I think.
2. My journal is titled "fluent at last in the languages of the sea" because I love the idea of the sea having languages (plural) and of being fluent in them. It's from the Allen Curnow poem "Canst Thou Draw Out Leviathan With An Hook". I have not yet forgiven Curnow for "an hook", but his poetry nearly makes up for it.
3. My subtitle is "ain't no place I can be/since I've found Serenity" because OMG Firefly I am in love. Yeah.
4. My friends page is called "I have heard the mermaids singing" because I wanted something vaguely oceanic to go with the title, and I adore that poem.
5. My default userpic is "since I found Serenity", because of the being in love part.
