i saw ads for it on tv, and i was thinking, ooh, _astralis'll be happy :)
you were in a dream i had last night. i was on lj, and i was reading some comments to a post i had made, and you had commented and written stuff, some of it going along the lines of "why didn't you add this into the other post you made on the same subject a while ago?" so i was really hurt and then i read you journal and it wasn't like you at all and i thought to myself "this really isn't like her AT ALL" and then i woke up. anyways. i forgive you! lol.
hey, i'm thinking about going to auckland uni next year, so, seeing as you are a student there, could you tell me what you think of it? would you recommend it?
That is a strange dream. But I have strange dreams all the time.
As for the university, well, I suppose it depends what you actually want to study. I'm not familiar with much outside the history and English departments. It is supposed to be one of the top two or three universities in the country, according to that ranking thing that was published last year or the year before.
I like it, but I haven't got anything to compare it to! I would recommend it though, I think, but of course I don't know if anywhere else is better.
That's not a very helpful answer, really. Maybe I'll come up with something when I've thought about it some more.
you have written the crux of the problem: no one has anything to compare "their" university with. so everyone says "their" uni is good, but they don't have anything to compare it with. lol.
Yep, that's it. I can say that I think UofA is pretty good in and of itself, but I can't say that it's any better than any other university in the country. *g*
