haha, definitly. even when i was a child reading the books for the first time, i just assumed that without even really thinking about it! i was disappointed when i reread them at a worldlier age and realised it probably wasn't intended to read like that.
I never noticed it as a kid, but I'm reading the whole series through in order at the moment and now it leaps out at me. I have no idea how I missed it earlier. I mean, Captain Flint sends Nancy and Peggy a postcard and all he writes on it is "Give my love to Timothy"? I think I'd read it so many times I stopped noticing things.
