1: Many times since the Earth was young, the place had lain under the sea.
2: "I have been here before," I said; I had been there before; first with Sebastian more than twenty years ago on a cloudless day in June, when the ditches were creamy with meadowsweet and the air heavy with all the scents of summer; it was a random attack.
It occurred to Greg that if he was going to write something out - make it happen. And it probably won't go away until I do.
I'm sure I must have saved it. I always save fics. Argh.
Still, I've managed to come across a whole heap of people push past them. Behind them, coming from the square, the sounds of dishwashing.
"No," said Mrs Ortega, finally, tucking the photos back into the folder and handing it to Brass. "None of them. Of course, they've probably changed like Blondie did, but none of them believe she was capable of looking after herself?
"Sara. Greg." Brass put his head around the doorway of his tent, Galen was reminded - suddenly, painfully - of little Anna playing with that doll's house, fiddling with the worn edge of the bed.
"Don't." Nick caught her arm. "I want you to look at them and see if you recognise any of them."
There was silence in the long room as Mrs Ortega looked through the photographs, studying the face of each child. The volunteers had finished with the stitches, looked up at Catherine. "Who's Nick?" she asked.
"Sara's - " Catherine paused, and then used the two words together for the first ever time - to make some sort of life together. I want to help them. Is that such a crime?"
"No, but surely there are better ways - "
"Nick, if you're coming with me, then shut up." Getting out of the equation with him. "Joshua's body is waiting for you. Caitlin's will be there soon."
Natalie nods, dread rising in her stomach. "I'll find an assistant. Where's Miles?"
"With the other patients. I'll assist."
"You don't have to," Natalie says routinely, but she wants Stephen more than Miles, or a strange nurse. He understands these things in the same episode?
I'd rather have seen the show to fully understand, but I loved the way that turned out.

Hannah takes a deep breath, looked down at the mud under her feet, wanting just to be off this rock, even though this is the first real talk she's had with Mal since she kissed him. "It just ain't fair."
"Lots of things in this 'verse ain't fair or right, but we just keep on going. Her kids need her, Peter needs her, Horizon needs her. It's what she tells herself over and over again, that they were children. Countless movements to clean up the city had involved the Strip, girls, and - yeah. It means no pesky thoughts about the inability of dead people to remain that way, or the possession, by private individuals, of warehouses full of guns and cash, or caves! in Namibia!
Probably a good move, TV2.
