Firstly, thank you for writing for me! This is my first Yuletide and I'm really looking forward to see what you do with these characters. Anything you want to write would be awesome, but just in case you're like me and you'd like some guidance, here goes:
Things I love: both first time and established relationship fic, especially when the first time is 'we've been pining over each other for a while except we're kind of messed up and it took forever to get to this point'; female friendship; chosen family; cuddling; bed sharing; happy (or at least positive, if not entirely happy) endings.
Things I don't really love: I'm not a huge fan of AUs, and while I'm good with some sex/violence I'd rather not have a heavy focus on either.
I've put a few ideas under the cut if you're looking for a bit more inspiration. Feel free to pick and choose and ignore at will. I also ramble lot about these characters and why I love them, because once I start talking about them I don't always stop. I hope there's something useful in there for you; if not, like I said, ignore.
Optional details: Anything featuring these guys would be awesome! I ship Krista/Bobby but gen is totally fine. I'd love to see Krista and Astrid's friendship develop, if that's something you're interested in.
Additionally, I love all the characters on the show (okay, maybe not Ronnie Dearman) so feel free to include as many as you like, there's definitely no need to focus exclusively on those three. If you'd prefer to focus on one in particular, go for it because I love them all. I love Krista for her cluelessness about emotions (her own and other people's), Bobby for his unfailingly optimistic outlook on life (and his conviction that he can do things like land a DC-3 on skis with no training whatsoever), and Astrid because she just keeps going, keeps trying to be the best despite being a little out of her depth in Yellowknife.
Optional details: I would love to see a friendship fic featuring these three, whether they're saving the day or just making it though the day together. If you want to focus on one more than the others, that's fine. I'd prefer if you didn't break up canon pairings (Anne/Tom, Maggie/Hal), and if you're writing post-season two I'd rather nothing bad happen to Anne's baby (I don't think either Anne or I could bear it if she lost another child).
My favourite thing about this fandom is seeing these people from incredibly different backgrounds coming together not just to fight, but to survive, and live, so I'd love to see something along those lines if that's what you'd like to write. I love Anne's strength and compassion and the depth of her love for Tom and the people around her, but I'd love to know what it costs her and how she deals with her own losses while taking care of everyone else. I love that Maggie has found her place in the 2nd Mass, but at the same time she doesn't quite believe that people will accept her for who she really is. I loved her taking care of Jimmy in the battle at the school - that might just be my favourite Maggie moment. And I love how Lourdes has become a lot more confident in her skill as a medic, I'd love to see some of that reflected.
Optional details: Not gonna lie, these guys are my OT3, but if you'd rather write gen or Nathan/Audrey with a side of Duke friendship I'd love that too.
Er, less vaguely, I love Audrey being awesome (which happens every day of her life), and everyone being snarky. Whether/how much you engage with the Troubles/Colorado Kid/Hunter storyline is up to you, if you've got some ideas on how it might play out I'd love to see them, if you'd rather just play with the characters that's great too. What would a relationship between Audrey and Nathan and Duke, or just Nathan and Audrey, look like, and how the hell did they get there considering they're all so completely broken and dysfunctional at this point? And I'd love to see that one for gen as well, because my favourite thing about this series is those three and how they interact, and all they seem to be doing at the moment is sniping at each other. How do they play out their destinies, or not? Or what would they do on a day when there's nothing dramatic happening in Haven and Audrey and Nathan have somehow got the day off?
