Well, I liked it for the most part, but I read it so quickly there's probably a lot I didn't take in.
Lupin and Tonks. Oh. I so much wanted them to be okay. I knew a Weasley would go and suspected it would be one of the twins so that I don't mind so much. At least it wasn't George.
I love Neville and Luna so much. And Luna's father, so desperate to get her back. And Neville's grandmother!
I'm glad Katie came back to fight at Hogwarts. I have a ridiculous crush on her.
And the epilogue? Total fanfic, honestly. I wrote a kids leave for Hogwarts epilogue to "Under the Stars" about four years ago. There's so many people I would have liked to have seen instead of kids. I suppose it was something to do with hope and the future, but really. She had Ted Lupin for that: Harry all over again, his parents killed by Voldemort when he was too young to remember them... I can understand the happy ending impulse, but what happened to the Dursleys? Kreacher? Katie, Alicia, Angelina, Oliver? Lavender?
I would have liked Neville to kill Bellatrix, but it's kind of cool that it was Molly.
Oh, the Harmonians are going to go nuts. This is going to be so much fun.

I haven't received my copy of HP7 yet (I think it'll arrive tomorrow in the mail), but I'd been reading spoilers online and refraining from saying much.
So the leaked version I'd heard so much about was real then. (Not that I'd read it... just read a lot about). *sigh*
I'll read the book when it arrives and attempt to keep an open mind. For now though, the unanswered questions (such as the ones you mentioned), inconsistencies and plotholes are crammed into my brain.
Maybe I'll like it better when I read the whole thing. We'll see.
Thanks for posting your thoughts on the book; I was wondering about your opinion :)

There are a lot of unanswered questions, I think; mostly to do with what happened to various people. But a lot of things from the previous books are answered, so that's something I suppose.
I thought it was good on the whole, with a number of weak points, but then I tend to be a fairly uncritical reader for the most part. I hope you enjoy it. *g*
