I have so much love for the Chalet School books. Why on earth did I not adore these books earlier?

I did read a few as a kid, but my boarding school story loyalty lay with Malory Towers and St Clares, and I was of the ridiculous opinion that the Chalet School was not a proper boarding school because the girls don't sleep in rows in dormitories and play lacrosse and have midnight feasts.

Manukau Libraries does not have any Chalet School books. I think maybe a trip to Borders is in order. I need more of these books.

I don't want to work all this weekend. I really, really don't.

I read the Famous Five books and the Naughtiest Girl in School. They were fabulous. There was this other book I really want to re-read but I can't remember what it was about, just what was on the cover. Sad.

Lacrosse and midnight feasts are so very important.

I love the Famous Five! I read the Naughtiest Girl too, but I never liked them as much as Malory Towers and St Clares.

I always wanted to go to boarding school so I could have midnight feasts (with ginger beer!) and play hockey and lacrosse. Never got that wish...
