Last night's Grey's Anatomy:

That was not an episode. That was a sucky thing of suckiness.

Merrin Dungey was good. David Anders was boring; unfortunately for him I think all his future roles will be compared to Sark and probably come up short.

Burke has now equalled - or maybe even exceeded - Derek's level of horrendousness, what with the chauvinistic crap about how he knows what's best for Cristina. He can go pee in the Amazon with Derek.

I knew Susan's death was coming and I spent the whole episode dreading it. There was no point to it; it was just horrible with no good reason.

Even Addie couldn't redeem the episode. She seemed... off. I loved, loved, loved her confronting all the potential parents after Lisa's surgery, but other than that she just wasn't quite right. Still stunningly beautiful, of course, but not quite the Addison she has been. My guess would be that they're tweaking the character for the spinoff; Kate is supposed to be a brilliant comic actress and they seem to be aiming to write Addison to her strengths, which is good on the one hand but on the other - Addie isn't really a comedic character. The only comic scene she's had, as far as I can recall, is the poison oak one. There's been funny lines ("God wants you to be an adulterer?") but not a lot of actual comedy and I'm not really sure that that's who Addison is.

At least Bailey is still awesome.

I was watching Burke and just seething. I mean, God, you are just so emancipated. I lead and Cristina follows? What the fuck is that? He's so much worse than Derek.

Bailey continues to rule me and the scene to cheer up Addison with the attractive half naked young man and the staring was the high point of the episode. Low point would be Burke and George and their stupid stupidness.

I know. Burke. And Shonda calls herself a feminist? I keep hoping against hope that by this point she knew they were firing IW and wanted to make Burke as awful as possible, but considering her ideas of characterization I doubt it. I have this thing about Derek because of the way he treated Addison, but stepping back I think Burke is worse. Although it's close, because Derek, and "I can't breathe for you" and all that - that made me so mad, and I don't even like Meredith.

It's a sad thing when the most likable man on the show is Mark Sloan. Well, and then there's the Chief, but everyone else? Burke and Derek are awful, George is an idiot and completely unlikable, and I want to run away every time Alex has a scene with Ava.

There should be more Bailey. There can never be enough Bailey.
