Last night's TV:
*Is obliged to be ded with love of Kate*
I have to admit, she did creep me out a little in this episode. Using Tom to get into the hospital - okay, it was the only way she could get to her dying mother, and I think in some ways it was like coming home for her to be with Tom. She's run so far, so hard for so long, but he's still there and he's probably the only home that she's got.
And the tape in the time capsule? Was cute.
But the thing with her mother was pretty heartbreaking - the look on Kate's face when she saw her mother, and when her mother started calling for help... poor girl. *Loves her Kate*
But the next bit - it's like she can do nothing but run. I want to know what she did, that's got her so scared and the police so desperate to get their hands on her. Tom either loves her or he's really stupid, because he ran with her after she'd attacked a guard... and he ended up dead. And she ran. Again. And I guess that was the creepy bit, that she just left him and ran.
And Sawyer, on the island? Ow, ow, ow. *Points at icon* He took away everything she'd made for herself on the island: she was Kate, not Annie or Joan or Maggie or any of the other aliases she's used. People knew her for who she was, not because she had her face on "Wanted" posters. She helped people, she was respected, people liked her. And Sawyer ripped it all away.
The only people on that island who have the power to break Kate are Jack and Sawyer. And Sawyer used that power.
And then I had to stop and wonder about how different Kate and Sawyer really are. I have this gut instinct that Kate is essentially good hearted, but really messed up, and Sawyer, well, he's messed up too, we all know that, but there's something nasty about Sawyer which Kate lacks.
*Loves her Kate*
Meh. Not sure I'm a big fan of cross-overs... well, I don't watch Third Watch, so it was just like any other episode except with some woman getting Natalie's screen time.
I'm just bitter that I taped this week's ep, and not last week's ep. Kelli Williams was fantastic in the last scene of that ep, especially because they don't tend to give her a lot to play with. Nat crying on Connor's shoulder... awwwww.
Anyway: I did love Natalie's line "I've never operated on a lion before." I'm sure there are vets who could have done the op. And the whole thing seemed a bit far-fetched: Charlotte and whats-his-face got sick from their smuggled animals - with the same disease that Charlotte stole from the lab? Yes. Sure.
