Yuletide reveal!

My assignment fic was Cumberland Way for Artifactrix. Swallows and Amazons, set immediately after Pigeon Post, Jim/Timothy (or, if you prefer, Captain Flint/Squashy Hat), 3,049 words.

This was probably one of the easiest fics I've ever written. I had a momentary 'why did I offer book canons?' panic after matching (I find TV shows much easier to write), then realised I loved the prompts and started writing. The resulting fic did precisely what I wanted it to do, which is a rare thing for me.

Then I wrote Where There's Life for [livejournal.com profile] jedibuttercup. Falling Skies, pre-series, Anne and Karen, 4,621 words.

This one began life as a treat, because Anne is a wonderful character who is woefully underused in canon and there should be more Anne fic, and became a pinch hit, whereupon it expanded rapidly in length (and would have been longer, were it not for that pesky issue of the deadline).

The last one was Equilibrium for cerie. Arctic Air, Krista/Bobby, set after the season one finale, 3,256 words.

I thought this one would be about 1,500 words and I would have time to write a second treat. But apparently not so much, because it sometimes takes Krista a while to figure out what she wants.
